Delicious Go-To Clean Foods

I have learned through my years on this earth, that in order for me to maintain a clean diet, I need to have a well stocked kitchen. If I am missing ingredients or low on groceries – I slip. I cave and make poor eating choices. This, tends to spiral into a week or two of bad eating habits before I snap back into gear. YOYO DIETING IS SO BAD Y’ALL!!!!

I figure I can’t be the only one who falls into these routines from time to time! In an effort to stop the madness and maintain a 90% clean eating diet and lifestyle – I have come up with a list of key grocery staples to keep us on track!

FRUITS:

  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Grapefruit
  • Apricots
  • Oranges
  • Pomegranate
  • Blueberries
  • Pineapple
  • Strawberries
  • Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe
  • Tomatoes

VEGATABLES: 

  • Mushrooms
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Avacados
  • Cabbage
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Bell and/or Chili Peppers
  • Cauliflower
  • Fresh Garlic

PROTEIN:

  • Lean Free Range Chicken
  • Lean Ground Turkey
  • Wild Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Shrimp
  • Eggbeaters

CARBS:

  • Whole Grain Bread
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Brown Rice
  • Quinoa
  • Wheat Bran

NUTS/BEANS/OTHER:

With a kitchen full of some of, if not all of these items you will have the easiest access to the perfect balance of clean foods for meals! NO EXCUSES ;)

of course don’t forget WATER WATER WATER

See, now it really isn’t as scary as it sounds!! All you need is a little planning and knowledge. The rest will come with practice! :)

  1. Yepp – you covered pretty much all my favorite go-tos ! Very comprehensive list. Recently I’ve been making salads with those veggies (especially carrots, avocado, and bell peppers!) with some fish (tuna or salmon) allll the time. So satisfying
