It’s Playlist Thursday y’all! (& I even said that out loud in a funny voice)
Something Old: These will be songs that are at least 5 years old. I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.
Something Current: These will be songs that have been released within the past year. I know, but you have to give me some leeway here.
Something to Consider: These will be songs that are not typically heard on the radio and may be by artists you’ve never heard of or considered running to. This is the wild card category, can be old or current.
This week’s theme: DANCE-ABILITY. Songs that make you want to embarrass yourself on the dance floor. I was pretty excited when Mr. Pavey informed me of the theme. This is RIGHT up my alley. I, well… I’ll break out in dance just about anywhere. The grocery store. The middle of a race. You name it…. The hardest part is narrowing it down to THREE songs.
As much as I am totally in love with EDM (Electronic Dance Music) especially Dubstep
Something Old: “First Date” by Blink 182 - Come on, who doesn’t love old school Blink 182? This song makes me break it out like I JUST DON’T CARE. Ya know, the head banging, jumping up and down, limbs flailing everywhere…. Yeah, that kind of dancing. Written by Tom, released in 2001 off of their “Take Off Your Pants & Jacket” album. (Not quite as fabulous as Enema of the State. But close)
Something Current: “Crush On You” by Nero (Knife Party Remix) - Crush on You was a single off of Nero’s debut Album, Welcome to Reality in October 2011. The song climbed to the top of Dance Charts all over the UK… Once it gets to about 40 seconds – a minute in, you will see why that is.
Something To Consider: “Kyoto” by Skrillex - Taken from his 3rd EP Bangarang the song started out originally with no words (I kind of would like to hear that. The rapping at the end ruins the song for me a bit..) The instrumental was terrible quality and dubbed “Ruffneck bass” when it was leaked onto the internet last year. It was ripped by almost every DJ around. But, Skrillex came back, jazzed it up, and mastered it making this HEAVY, BASSY song that fuels literally, every single one of my runs.
So, tell me… What songs make you have to get up and DANCE IT OUT, every single time you hear it?

Hmmmm… Can’t say I’ve ever heard of the “consider” — interesting beat tho. Same goes for your current — can you tell I’m listening to these backwards. And finally, Blink 182, a band I have heard of. They were a funny band…
welllll not what you intended but I SHALL DANCE FOR CARDIO TODAY
Loving the “Crush On You” party remix! I want this on MY playlist.
I run in silence! I hate things in my ears so I never listen to music unless i’m in the car! lol
I don’t run with music. But my favorite song right now is “Somebody that I Used to Know” by Gotye.
Reblogged this on coachangie and commented:
Funny how I’m not the only one who busts out jamming to songs lol
