Today I come to y’all with good news!! I was given a slight raise at work, and was guaranteed set hours at the second job I recently accepted… So now I have very very busy days but it’s okay… It means I don’t have to move back home to NY! Hip-Hip-Hurray!! In the midst of what was becoming an impossible time, something gave. Thank goodness!! So thankful for the way things pan out. Everything balances out, in due time.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
We had quite the scare this weekend with our furbaby that I just don’t even want to get into right now, but at the end of the same day we found out we were going to be able to re-sign our lease and resume life as we know it as Charm City Dwellers.
I’m so freaking happy about that. It’s a huge load off my chest knowing that I won’t be separated from my love. I was maintaining composure, but inside I was freaking out if I could handle an entire year away from him. Not in the sense “would we make it” but in the sense WOULD I MAKE IT?! lol… Phew!
In my perfect world we would have found another apartment that is equal or less in price in the area, but this isn’t a perfect world. Instead, we are just going to paint the place!! We were told we could when we moved in, but never bothered. Now, if I have to stay here another year — I NEED SOME COLOR!
So Zack and I have been spending the last few nights picking out colors for our walls! We have finally narrowed down our choices and in a few weeks will start picking up the paint & getting the ball rolling. We are starting with the living room! I have never really enjoyed hanging out in our living room. It’s so boring. White walls, beige carpet. My medal display is on one wall, Matthew is displayed on another… My signed Ryan Miller jersey is on the wall…. That’s it. White white white every where else. That is all about to change with some blues!
That’s not our living room… I sort of wish it was, but its set up smilar to ours. The couch is in front of a big bay style window, beige-like carpet. We’re going with Behr Warm Springs Blue for the walls, and a dark Azure on the trim. Leaving the ceiling as is – an eggshell white or something similar!
Next up, the kitchen!!!! With cheap wood cabinets and white appliances, we decided to go for a deep red.
Golden Cherries Jubilee. It’s actually the same color of the walls, but the island looks funny… for some reason the application I used to tinker around with colors makes it look different. It won’t on our breakfast bar wall. We’re going to leave the trim the eggshell color to match the appliances in the room.
We are also considering painting the hallway in between the kitchen and bedroom the same color.. We aren’t sure on that, though.
Our bedroom is going to be a gorgeous green!! Giving it a relaxing vibe.
Behr Treasure Isle Green. Deep, sea vibe goin’ on. We love love love this shade of green!! Are going to paint the ceiling the same shade and leave the trim alone. Really adds a nice contrast. We were considering accent walls, but are too in love with this particular shade.
Last but not least — the bathroom. My mom was so not a fan when I texted her a swatch of the color. But, its so bright and its pretty close to the shade of yellow we’re using for our wedding (sunflower.. this isn’t sunflower though.) It’ll really brighten up the bathroom.
Behr Macow Yellow. Beautiful, bold color!!!
It’s going to be nice to have a new vibe in this apartment. I get antsy and if I can’t move, then I definitely need some sort of change!
Whats the best thing that’s happened to you in the last week? Big or small, we should take time to appreciate the good in our lives!

Super happy for you that you get to stay, and those colors will seriously brighten the place! Tempts me to paint our place (I always say I’m not putting money into a rental out of principal.) Maybe it is worth it after all!
We always said the same thing. Didn’t want to waste the money if we’re only here a year… But for my sanity it is necessary haha.
I love the colors too
so consider the source and all
but
uh
my office is BRIGHT PURPLE
Amazing colours!!! I love anything bright
I adore bright colours! There is no other thing that influences my mood as much as colour does! In a living space it has the power to make everything brighter
xx Cat
Bright colors get me
I love love love a pop of color! The best thing that has happened to me? Hmm. Spending time with my dad…and a lot of it. He works 12 up to 15 hours a DAY and I never see him anymore. So it was nice to hang out with him
Our kitchen is dark blue, we have one bathroom that is bright yellow – the cats’ bedroom (also known as the spare room) is like brand new grass green. SO BRIGHT! Our bedroom is a mossy green, and our bathroom is red.
I love colour!
I am SO HAPPY for you! I can’t wait to see all of your home makeovers. I’m still in apartments, so there’s not really much control that I have over making things look exactly the way I want. But I’ll be patient.
The best thing that happened to me this week was getting to hang out with my extended family. They all came in for a graduation party so I got to catch up with everybody and it was wonderful.
Blue rooms are amazing. They are always so fun and uplifting. Our daughters room is a shade of blue as well. We also have a yellow in our living room but it is definitely more muted than your BRIGHT-AS-ALL-HELL bathroom swatch. hahaha. It definitely takes a designer’s eye to make the color work. Would love to see the “after.”
Awesome!!
And congrats on the raise – doubly awesome
Congrats!!! Super happy for you!!! And I LOVE all the colors!!!
