Playlist Thursday: MOST APPEARANCES

It’s Thursday, which if you follow my blog at all you probably know by now means, it’s PLAYLIST THURSDAY time!!!! This week’s theme is MOST APPEARANCES:

We are creatures of habit and when we find an artist that we like, chances are they make a repeat appearance on the playlist. What artist appears the most on your playlist? We can bend the rules a bit, list one of their oldest and one of their newest ON YOUR PLAYLIST and let the “consider” be a random song or your favorite.

New to Playlist Thursdays?? Here’s how it works: Every week Pavement Runner sets up a theme for the week. For example, this week is about songs that we play most often. You post 3 songs. Something old (at least 5 years old) Something Current (Songs Released within the last year) and Something Current (basically a wild card! Have fun with this one!)

& we’re off…

Something Old: “Dog Days Are Over” By Florence + The Machine... This is stretching the ‘old’ category a bit. It was originally released in 2008, however it was re-released in 2010 when the video was made and it became one of Florence’s biggest hits to date. However, I still count it as old because it was originally recorded in 08 ;) …And this song makes an appearance on EVERY run. EVERY SINGLE RUN. I Kid you not.

“Run fast for your mother run fast for your father, run for your children, for your sister & your brothers. Leave all your love and your longing behind, you can’t carry it with you if you want to survive”

Something Current: “Dazed & Confused” Led Zeppelin Remix by Pretty Lights – There are some artists you should just NEVER. EVER. EVER remix. Led Zeppelin. The Beatles. Pink Floyd. Its a sin in my opinion to mess with some of the best music ever made. However, when my buddy TJ showed me this video, I surrendered my uppity opinions. This song is so dang beautifully remixed. He doesn’t mess with the base of the song, he just adds his own genius in the spaces between. It’s so beautifully done. I can’t get over it. Seriously!!! Wish I was at Red Rocks last summer to see this incredible show! (he also does an AMAZING remix of time by Pink Floyd that you should absolutely check out) They’re long songs but SO WORTH IT

Been dazed & confused for so long its not true… Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.

Something to Consider: “A Gentleman Caller” by Cursive - This is still to this date, my favorite song by Cursive off of what is my favorite album by them (The Ugly Organ) They have some amazing music, but this takes the cake, hands down! it goes from SUPER powerful to dark and smooth at the end. Brilliant musicians and song writing on Tim Kasher’s behalf!

“and in the morning, on the sober dawn of Sunday… You’re not sure what you have done… Who told you love was fleeting, sometimes men can be so misleading to take what they need from you”

(figure out why this song is a current fav yet?! haha)

what songs are constantly being played on YOUR playlist?
